Resort Entry & Chains

An entry fee is payable to enter the Hotham area during winter.  Visit the Mt Hotham Resort Management website to purchase before travelling to the mountain:  https://mthotham.alpineeasyaccess.com.au

Remember all vehicles must carry chains at all time, as required by the Victorian State law. Chains can be hired from Harrietville and Omeo. Fitting is free when hired for Hoy’s who also offer a park and ride service to get you up the mountain. https://www.hoysskis.com.au/chain

Parking & Access

There is no designated parking in the Davenport area where Asterix Lodge is located.   Day parking is in The Corral area in the village centre, and all other parking is in designated areas towards Dinner Plain.

​There is an unloading area situated at Jack Frost Corner, about 200 metres from Pegasus which allows you 30 minutes to unload, before you will need to move your vehicle further down the Great Alpine Road to their designated day or overnight parking areas.

There is a free shuttle bus that runs about every 10 minutes to carry you back to the unloading area.  

Asterix Lodge has a sled which can be used to transport your gear to the lodge, or there is also a bookable oversnow service available via Snow-Tow Mt Hotham.    https://snowtow.com.au/

Check In & Check Out

Check in time is strictly 5:00 pm.   No access to the lodge is available prior to this time. Guests are respectfully asked to check with the Manager before occupying their allocated bedroom.

Check out time is 2:00 pm on the day of departure.

Kitchen

Asterix Lodge is a self catering lodge with a well appointed communal kitchen . The kitchen include regular and microwave ovens, induction and gas cook tops, sterilizer, freezer and individual room refrigerators and food storage.

The lodge also provides a wide variety of basic condiments including honey, vegemite, ketchup, some herbs/ oil, salt and pepper.

WiFi

Complimentary WIFI is available throughout the lodge.  Recently upgraded to a Starlink satellite service, we are proud to say this is one of the most reliable and efficient wifi solutions for the Mt Hotham area.  Just ask our lodge manager for the WiFi password.

​Duties

All guests and members are assigned a small housekeeping duty to perform each day of their stay (except day of arrival and day of departure).

Clean Up Before Departure

Guests must clean and vacuum their rooms and remove all food from their fridge, cool room and food drawer storage space before the check out time of 2pm on their day of departure.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in the club but smokers may smoke outside at the entrance, using the ashtray provided.

Covid-19

Asterix Lodge operate with a Covid Safety Plan in place. This plan is regularly updated to align with the Victorian State government requirements. We recommend all guests, members and visitors to the lodge are vaccinated in line with government recommendations. Our lodge managers may also ask for proof of vaccination in line with any government regulations in place at the time of your stay.
